Services/Resources - Social Activities

Social Activities

Keeping active and in contact with others is a key component in helping seniors continue to lead a healthy mental and physical life. Some of our socialization activities include: senior clubs, day trips, local outings, visits and letters to the homebound and even a “Prom.”

St. Louis Senior Wii League

This is a virtual bowling League which has been put together by the SGSM Network and Home Instead Senior Care in order to provide a fun, exciting, and active time for local St. Louis Area Seniors.

The League has many divisions all over the area and is always looking to expand. Each division consists of 3 to 4 teams, each from different communities or locations, and lasts for a total of 6 or 8 weeks depending on scheduling. Each facility/team takes turns hosting the event every week and then travels to another location each of the following weeks. Each team is provided their own separate bowing lane (Wii console, projector, and projector screen). All teams are allowed to play up to four games (depending on time) in which each game has a different objective (highest total team score, most strikes, mystery frame, top bowler on each team). Each participant of the winning team is awarded a one dollar prize for their accomplishment.
